Thank you Randall! The health system is a mess...Well, it operates amazingly for its lack of technology utilization...but as Spratt points out there are significant opportunities to optimize the health system's use of technology and save lives.

While there is some dispute whether this code actually indicates a remote kill switch, one shouldn't be surprised if Apple included such an app. with their tight, proprietary methods.

Hmmm...I remember a similar lawsuit against IBM, except it was a group of employees. Overworking and non-compensating is common in the IT realm.

Hmmm...and why do we want IBM to make a branded version of OpenOffice instead of just using OpenOffice?

I couldn't agree more. As a computer student I tryed to learn ways of protecting computers from hacking. But it wasn't until I learn how to do the hack, could I begin to figure out how to stop it.

Should colleges really teach hacking?
While it is certain that certain students utilize these skills for evil, one can't combat malware without being intimately familiar with how it works.

Good question. My guess would be that they wouldn't have a right to snoop on the entire contents of your mailbox, but using packet sniffing/similar techniques they could still read the content of anything going in/coming out of your system. Also, probably can tap in a keylogger to track all your keystrokes legitimately.

Now that is pretty sweet. What about virtualization of the browser? Have you seen that IE Sandbox that separates the browser from the rest of the OS - essentially creating a invincible (okay, nothing is invincible) environment for the browser to operate in?

It will be interesting to see the adoption of this contender for 4g amongst the enterprise. With Wibro(mobile WiMAX) in place across parts of Asia mainly South Korea and the support of the technology by companies such as Intel and Samsung. In the current state of play it seems WiMAX will be the leading player for the 4g crown fending off rivals such as the Chinese developed McWiLL.
