Good comments. I think a wired/wireless hospital is better than one lacking these technologies. Though the human touch is still essential. The human touch is easier to provide with the benefits of technology - allowing reductions in paperwork, etc. and more focus on the patient.

I guess he is correct, although security always gets more publicity. I suppose it depends what business you are in also, and how big your reputation/profile is.

Linus Torvalds: Don't glorify the security 'monkeys'
In the original context Torvald rants that the people who fix general bugs are just as important as those who fix security bugs and the openBSD team needs to stop dumping all their focus on security issues.

I'm not sure of the original context for Torvald's comments, but Asay's opinion - that I can comment on. I think he must be hyperbolizing on his preference for UI enhancements over security and I doubt anyone will follow his suggestion...but still, its a bit overstated.

My 15 minutes with Bill Gates, and how the Web was born
I wonder if people will be upset if they find out that they could get the disk for free (without support)? Anyway, Ubuntu is a great distro. I run Xubuntu on my 800Mhz PIII laptop and it works great.

Best Buy to sell Ubuntu for $19.99
I found this article to be informative concerning the emergence and development of solid state drives versus current HDDs. It's exciting to see the changes in that these drives could potentially have on the computer industry, but it looks like it might be better to wait a while before investing in the still expensive and somewhat faulty technology.

Samsung to ship cheaper, faster Solid State Drives.
Although $20 for 60 days of support is pretty expensive, I'm sure a lot of people will get their moneys worth. People to get Ubuntu through Best Buy will probably need a lot of support.

Best Buy to sell Ubuntu for $19.99
Hmmm...Not sure how many people will buy it, but the price isn't bad and it could reduce bandwidth costs, especially since the people purchasing the software at Best Buy are most likely not going to be technically savvy to utilizing Bittorrent.

Mozy is great, especially for consumers. Unfortunately, the pricing is unreasonable when it comes to businesses. I utilize it for small business clients, b/c the price isn't bad and the featureset is unbeaten. But if you need to do more than 10 computers the monthly cost in licenses is simply unreasonable. They need to drop this license fee entirely. I can backup to Amazon S3 and now Nirvanix for around $.20/GB - and they charge $.50/GB. The price per GB doesn't bother me, but the $4/mo. license per machine does!

I personally do not like watching videos generally...at least of the documentary sort. I'd rather read the material. I can consume more faster. That said, still seems a bit harsh on the criticism...though, as usual, I turned the video off after 3 minutes...

Yeah...Though a number of businesses believe there are enough adults to make it worthwhile to open virtual shops (at least in Second Life). I know IBM has.
