Its a half-decent all-in-one entertainment solution. But Microsoft likes to stick it to you for paid DLC. DLC = Downloadable Content.

Nice coup for Netflix. Not a ton of advantage for Microsoft.

Unfortunate since Vista, as Wilcox points out, really isn't a bad operating system - but it does have a very bad reputation. With SP1 Vista became a solid OS and with Server 2008 it offers significant feature integration enhancements.

Vista: DOA in the Enterprise
No doubt about it. Casual gaming is huge and will only continue to grow. Kongregate is a nice platform. Moola beats it out since you can win cash, but needs to hop up a notch their execution or they'll lose the race.

Why tech jobs are beating the employment odds
I really like Vista. I've had few problems with it and think there are a number of significant enhancements at multiple levels. A number of features that become available when running Windows Server 2008 are also extremely appealing. You won't hear many (some) complaints about Vista since SP1.

Definitely Orwellian...and very creepy.

I love VMWare. I think they have a great future ahead of them, though Windows 2008's Hyper-V will be a huge challenge.

Ahh, it is so true. This usually isn't a big problem as long as (a) you are compensated well, (b) it doesn't happen frequently, and (c) it doesn't happen because of cost cutting measures by your employer. Any of these three will tick an IT guy off.

Interesting...Though I'm a bigger fan of Apple and Opera's take on the situation - create full-fledged browsers that scale and scroll easier. No need for multiple website versions.

Hah...Funny. I've actually been using scour for the last few days, deciding if I like it. So far I do. I of course like getting paid for searching - but this is also almost exactly like my social search idea from three - four years ago. Its nice to see someone finally executing on it.

I think this is a great idea. I work on the internet full time and spend a lot of time researching, so this would be great for me. I also like the way the page is set up.

One can't help but read Phil Factor's articles. They are a piece of art as much as they are informative. Who else could take Lewis Carroll's dense Walrus and the Carpenter poem and turn it into an illustration on corporate business?

Interesting. Yeah, hacking of the iPhone is rampant. People are tired of phone companies restricting device utilization so they can ramp up their profits.

That is great news. Unfortunately, usenet's are only one of many ways for individuals to garner these types of materials. There are darknets that defend free speech in oppressed countries but by their very nature can also be used for these purposes and there is no way to shut them down.
