It is really a surprise that Bill Gates is now the 3rd in forbes list. Well, he is unlucky this time.

Hmmm...No. I don't think the data location is the biggest problem (look at the success of Amazon's S3 and EC2). Rather, quite bluntly, Google's Apps generally speaking have nothing on Microsoft's products. They have a long way to go before they offer the same featureset with the same ease of use that Microsoft currently offers. Release of the GDrive would be the next big step for Google in my opinion...a good webtop storage integration mechanism could make a Google Office experience seamless.

Has someone forgotten about Elisa? AI for counselors has been around for a long time...Though I have never been particularly impressed by any AI I encountered.

I always hated Firefox. I know people always complain about IE but I seem to have had major issues with
Firefox since I was in college three years ago.

It sure seems like Facebook is constantly working overtime to overtake MySpace on social network front.

I think some of this is backlash from dropping XP from many Dell computers trying to push Vista. Vista had so many problems off the bat, many of the inspiron and dimensions were returned. Vista Home Basic was dropping off the hard drive totally and it did it repeatedly.

Go to the link! It's a pretty cool algorithm that they have put together. Not sure of all the uses it could have but I imagine they are inumerable if the app works right consistently.

This is huge news for Google. Ask (formerly AskJeeves) is always one of the top five search engines. Essentially they will be using Googles engine, running behind the scenes.

Has anyone seen any results from this yet? The case was filed in January, just wondering about updates. Can't find much myself.

The biggest problem with their case is that bit torrent downloading works around most copyright laws due to the fact that you are only sharing portions of the file from any one source, which is why no one has gone after sites like Pirate Bay and applications like Azureus.

Boy it sure seems like Microsoft and Google are cornering the whole of the internet. The rest of this year should prove intersting.

Be careful about some of these types of Marketing tips. What they are usually doing is telling you only a portion of what they have done. They leave out key points frequently that then cause you to buy some step by step from them to really make the information useful. Unless your a marketer yourself it can be difficult to produce much traffic or conversions with these tips.

I just struggle to see Microsoft compete with Adobe in anything visual at all. They have been trying for years to compete with Adobe and formerly Macromedia. Not even Corel matches up in my opinion to anything Adobe puts out.

I tend to agree with you. I would like to follow its progress and see what he does with it. Still, nothing beats Photoshop. Expensive yes, worth it, you bet.

Its difficult to make claims that you can't substantiate on the date you have set forth though. Microsoft is notorious for this. Ramping up hype for something that isn't even seen on the day of release.

I think Microsoft could start over...and now is the perfect time to do so. In the past Microsoft was constrained b/c of legacy applications, but with virtualization it is possible for Microsoft to allow old applications to continue to run while separating into an entirely new OS. Yes, perhaps most applications would run in virtual layers for the next several years over a thin Microsoft OS, but over time developers would port applications to the new OS, especially if Microsoft provided tools and incentive (cash couldn't hurt).
