Will Verizon’s New Three-Cent Hike Kill SMS Services?
Verizon Wireless has announced plans to tack on an extra 3-cent charge for every SMS message sent by Web information services to any of its mobile subscribers. The hike is on top of the 20 cents per message that Verizon subscribers already pay. This even includes those with "unlimited plans." Erick Schonfeld asks what effect this move by Verizon will have...I imagine a lot of others are asking the same question.
